The Tools - in depth

Options!

Each tool will be listed with its matching hotkey, in order that they show up on the menu.

Scale Brush Size - '[' and ']'

Putting this first because it applies to many of the brushes below. Very handy if you don't want to open up the menus and just use hotkeys.

Swap between mask and paint - 'Q'

Swaps between altering the mask or the base image Can also press the use mask button.

Use Mask - 'H'

The most common thing to use in the paint tab is the mask. This is also handy for hiding the mask to view the changes made.

Clear Mask - 'Shift+C'

'Clear Mask' will delete all masks on the image

Painting - 'B'

Erase - 'E'

Used for erasing both the mask, or the base image, depending on what you have as the active layer. Very handy for changing parts that don't want to change. Can also erase the entire area in the bounding box with 'Delete/Backspace'

Fill Bounding Box - 'Shift+F'

Fills the bounding box with the selected color

Be aware that working with a sold color space like this can cause problems. See Palette Fix

Color Picker - 'C'

Selects a color from the base image and use that for the brush. When this tool is selected the mouse cursor will change to reflect the current color of the brush on the outer ring, and the the color that will be picked on the inner ring.

Move Tool - 'V'

Used for moving the bounding box and resizing it. Grabbing onto the dotted border lets you move the bounding box. Grabbing the square nodes lets you resize it. Can also be used to move around the canvas when not selecting the bounding box. Moving the canvas can also be done with 'Middle Mouse Click'

Reset View - 'R'

Centres the image in the canvas, scaling it to fit the screen. Does not move the bounding box.

Upscale Canvas

The Button doesn't currently work. To upscale see; Standard Upscalers

Remove Background

This button also doesn't work. To Remove Background see; Removing Backgrounds

Save - 'Ctrl+S'

Saves a copy of the whole image to the output folder. Don't forget to save after finishing your changes.

Copy to Clipboard - 'Ctrl+C'

A quick way to copy the image into another app, for upload or extra modification.

Import Image

Opens up the file explorer to select an image to add to the canvas

Clear Canvas

Removes everything from the canvas. Images and masking will be cleared, and the bounding box will be resized to default.

Undo - 'Ctrl+Z'

For when your little accidents aren't so happy. Removes the last change to the canvas. Used a lot to get back to the starting point when your gens didn't turn out right.
