Downloading and Installing Artroom

A step-by-step guide to installing the Artroom app

PreviousOverviewNextCommon Issues and Solutions

Last updated 1 year ago

The total size of the App will be about 12GB (18GB with all default models installed too)

You can find the latest version at:

The website offers the service of generating you images on a server that is much faster than generating locally. But the latest local version is free to use, and can be found on the pricing page of the website.

You can also find the all of the app versions at:

Only the .exe file is needed to install the app.

After downloading the installer and opening it you might be presented with this blue windows security screen. Clicking on the more info text will open the option to run the app installer.

After this installer finishes you can open up the app.

Upon opening you will be asked to install the 'backend' files of the app. These should be stored in a location separate than your main install. This defaults to installing into your user folder.

The models are stored in this same location by default, but a custom location for these can also be given. Models should be stored somewhere easy to locate, because you will most likely be adding to this collection on a regular basis

You will also need to select which graphics card you have, because the files it needs to run are very different depending on your hardware.

And finally decide what models you would like to install. They are all good at doing different things and it is recommended to get them all.

After clicking 'Install Artroom' the app will download the backend files and then your models. This can take a little while to finish, depending on your internet connection, but will usually take no longer than 20 minutes.

After this install finishes you're now good to start generating AI images!

It should also be mentioned that you can change the location of your output images in the Settings tab. This location defaults to a folder on your desktop.

You will have to give the installer permission to make changes, and then choose the main install location of the Artroom app. You can choose any location that works for you, but the default location will work fine. All guides will usually assume you used the default locations.
